THE HISTORY

1911
One of the famous wells with natural carbonated sour water in Papayannis, Florina, passes into the hands of the late Petros Dinakis’.
1971
The first soft drinks΄production facility in the area is being built within the Dinakis’ family estate. It’s named «ΑΪΔΙΝΙΟΥ» and one of its owners is Lazaros Dinakis (son of Georgios).
1975
Lazaros Dinakis is thrilled with the process of soft drinks production. He is gradually expanding his knowhow when he finally decides, together with his son Dimitris, to establish their very own family business.
He is determined to undertake this project setting very high quality standards and he therefore invests beforehand a long period of time in research. He analyses the quality of the water from their old well as well as the one from new drillings that took place in-between.
1983
The new family enterprise is a reality and it is named “Lazaros G. Dinakis” – Florina’s Soft Drinks’ Production.
The production line in Papayannis is being built near the train lines that once connected Florina with Monastery and close to the old “Egnatia” Motorway. The great opening is taking place.
1985
During the first years Lazaros Dinakis was keeping up the whole production while his son Dimitris, who was a teacher by occupation, was dividing his time between school and the family business, where he would deal with any job needed: mechanic, electrician, salesman. He was a man thirsty for knowledge, always with an appetite for work.
The first bottled product line includes the flavors orange, lemon, lemon soda and soda water.
1998
Lazaros Dinakis is handing the family business over to his grandsons, Petros and Lazaros, and the company is renamed into today’s “Dinakis Bros OE”.
2001
The whole production process is getting modernized with new machinery and the first vertical integration includes the in house pet bottle production. This is an important step towards quality assuring and the company is certified with ISO22000.
2008
The increase in demand and the love the brand enjoys from the consumers leads to new investments in order to further increase the pet line production capacity.
However, the respect for nature and the environment is, was and always will be part of both the family and the business DNA. It is therefore decided that next to mild pumping, the company will also take measures towards reducing the grams of plastic of the bottles.
2014
The modern dietary trends are adopted and a new series of stevia soft drinks with reduced sugar is released in the market.
2017
A new large investment is once more modernizing the bottling line, which increases its capacity by 40%.
2020
Dimitris Dinakis suddenly dies leaving a huge empty space behind.
His son Petros takes over the company.
2023
40 years.
The anniversary is celebrated with a total rebranding.
The company is being renamed to ‘Piyi Dinaki’ in honor of the famous water to which it owes its flavor as well as its existence.
New labels are being designed and a premium line of Craft Sodas is being launched to the market.
